How to care for suede

Suede is the inner side of the leather, brushed to a soft finish. It feels warm and it looks rich in color. It also asks for a little care. Here is what we do ourselves.

1. Brush it, gently

Use a soft suede brush. Always brush in one direction. Once a week is plenty for a bag you carry every day.

2. Keep it dry

Heavy rain is the one thing suede does not like. A protector spray before the first wear helps a lot. Caught in the rain anyway? Let it dry at room temperature, away from a heater.

3. A stain? Wait first

Let the spot dry completely. Then brush it out. Do not rub it with water, because that spreads the mark.

Storing it

Fill the bag with tissue paper, so it keeps its shape. Keep it in its original packaging, upright and out of direct sun.
