Light, caught in a pattern

Woven

Woven is the surface that moves. Narrow strips cross over and under each other, and the light changes with every step you take.

The weave is made from narrow strips of Spanish leather or suede, laid over and under each other, strip by strip.

We chose this surface because it gives a bag structure without stiffness. The weave holds the shape of the Embellie, yet the bag stays soft enough to fold under your arm.

A weave is unforgiving. One strip pulled tighter than the rest, and the whole surface shifts. That is what to look for in a good weave: lines that run straight and edges that stay flat.

Run your hand across it and you feel structure before softness. Light slides over each crossing, soft in one place and sharper in the next. Up close, the weave tells you what the bag is made of.

Living with it

Woven surfaces ask for a little attention, not much. Keep the bag away from rough or sharp edges that can catch a strip. Wipe it gently along the weave, never hard across it. If it gets damp, let it dry on its own, away from heat, and smooth it with a soft cloth.

A woven bag needs no logo. The pattern does the talking, quietly, every time the light moves.
